The closest towns of Combermere and Barry’s Bay are home to excellent restaurants - just a short boat ride or car ride away

If you’re a coffee lover (like Aaron and Katie!) head up to Barry’s Bay to the Madawaska Coffee Co. You can enjoy a fantastic cup at their cafe and purchase freshly roasted beans to take home.

The Madawaska Valley area is home to an abundance of outdoor activities.

  • Fishing - from our resort docks you have access to over fifty kilometers of navigable waterways with great bass, pike, pickerel, and lake trout fishing

  • Whitewater paddling - the resort is located between the “Upper and Lower Mad” where you can experience world-class whitewater kayaking and canoeing

  • Day trips to Algonquin Park - it’s only a 40-minute drive to the Eastern gate!

  • Hiking and Mountain Biking - the hills surrounding Opeongo Trail Resort are home to a fantastic variety of trails

Shop Local Artisans.

The communities of Maynooth, Combermere, and Wilno are all home to many talented artisans. You can shop from a huge variety of locally made goods. Some of our favourite pieces to watch for:

Starting in early June the Combermere Farmer’s Market runs every Saturday
